September UMW Meeting This Saturday

Instead of the regular meeting, the UMW will attend the District Annual Day at Dalraida UMC in Montgomery. The car pool will leave RSUMC at 7:45 am this Saturday, September 11.

Potluck Lunch This Sunday After Worship

Play On Tickets Available

Pastor Chris is directing the next play in the Millbrook Community Theater season: Play On! It will feature RSUMC's own Trey Harris, Michael Snead, Daphine McCormick, and Nancy Gregor as well as backstage work from Mark & Stephanie McGuire. You definitely want to see this show, which runs the weekends of September 16 & 23. Tickets for both may be picked up at the church office for $8, or $10 at the door.

Wedding Coordinator Training

There will be a training held for all of our wedding coordinators on Friday, Sept 17, from 9:00-12:00.

Veggie Tales Live!

Veggie Tales Live will be coming to St James UMC on Tuesday, October 19, with shows at 1:00 and 6:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for general seating if they are purchased through the church. If we get 50 ticket orders we will receive the full set of 30 Veggie Tales DVDs as a gift for our church library. Contact Karen Rosier at ministry@awfumc.org or 356-8014 by September 19 if you have any questions or to order a ticket. Make sure you tell her you are with RSUMC so that she can give credit to the church towards the DVD set.

Girls! Girls! Girls!

A GIRLS ONLY CHURCH LOCK-IN is going to be on Friday Sept. 17th, so girls of ALL ages plan to come!!! It will start at 6:00 pm and we will spend the WHOLE NIGHT at the church until Saturday at 8:00 am-ish. There will be pizza for dinner, crafts, girlie stuff, and games with a Bible study based on Nancy Leigh DeMoss's book: Lies Young Women (Girls) Believe: and the Truth that Sets Them Free. We need to know an idea of how many girls will be coming, so fill out a registration slip in the bulletin and give it to either Kristen Buchner (334)-358-1616 or Jennifer Gay (334)-285-0258. Bring your P.J.s, sleeping bags, and all of your girlie dress-up stuff. Girls, don't miss out on the fun! And, ladies, please feel free to come and volunteer to help out!!!

Holy Land Trip November 2011

Pastor Chris is organizing a 10 day trip through Education Opportunities to go to the Holy Land. Please talk to Pastor Chris for details or a brochure. The trip will depart November 22, 2011 and return December 1. You will visit locations such as the Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes, River Jordan, Nazareth, Caesarea, Jericho, Bethlehem, Qumran, Mount Moriah, Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, Masada, and much more. You will participate in 3 lecture series over the course of the trip--the impact of geography on scripture, Jesus' ministry in the Galilee, and Jesus' ministry in Jerusalem. There are also extensions available to Jordan and Egypt. The cost of the trip is $3043/person, which includes everything - airfare, food, lodging, travel, entrance fees, tips, taxes, etc. There is a discount for putting down your $300 deposit by December. Contact the church office for a brochure or to register. There is no limit, so feel free to invite anyone you know who might be interested.

DVDs of Worship Available

We are doing a video recording of each week's worship service. If you would like a copy of the service, contact the church office. We have a suggested donation of $1 to cover the cost of the DVD, but if you can't afford that, don't worry about it.
